ANDEAN TRILOGY
Peru, Chile, Bolivia

The current borders of Bolivia, Peru and Chile are from the contemporary wars. They have nothing natural. The Incas used the Andean topography to mark their empire. It is this natural space that the circuit "Trilogy of the Andes", the fruit of many years of experience, want you to discover. It is therefore good to abolish the borders to enjoy a single geographical unit, which alone today condenses different cultures, different nationalities, folklores and different cuisines.
But the historical base itself remains common: Inca Empire and Spanish Conquista ...
The trip is multifaceted and allows you to multiply the feelings, day after day: a cultural part (the largest Inca sites and colonial cities) combined with an adventure game 4x4 little-known regions of the Bolivian Altiplano.
This circuit mainly brings a wealth of ecosystems and landscapes hard to match: Pacific coast, volcanic mountain range of Sajama park, colorful Indian markets of La Paz, Lake Titicaca, the desolate Altiplánicas and semi tropical valleys of Macchu Picchu.
A full range of Andean wonders!

For this reason, it is seldom visited, except by the huge trucks transporting the salt extracted from the Salar. We can, nonetheless, enjoy the unusual desolate scenery it offers before reaching the other Salar, larger and better known, the Salar de Uyuni (el. 3650 m.a.s.l.).

This island, of volcanic origin, is covered with stromatolites (fossilized bacteria representing the first traces of life on earth) and giant cacti. In the afternoon, we head east in the directing of Uyuni. On the way we visit the Salt Hotels (closed since November 2001) and the salt mine of Colchani.
