TRANS-YUNGAS ADVENTURE
Between Cordillera Real and tropical Yungas

Mountain bike 14 days from March to November Private Spanish or English speaking guide

Along the way…

La Paz, like Lake Titicaca, is dominated by the Cordillera Real, a seemingly impassible barrier of snowed-in peaks.
Un-climbable; not so sure… why not take a closer look?
A nice surprise awaits us on top. It is as though the Cordillera was brutally falling into the Amazon Basin.
During this circuit, we will criss-cross this incredible region -- tucked between the mineral landscape of the high summits and the tropical plains of Beni -- in the best way possible: alternating trekking with mountain biking. This outdoor takes us on the vertiginous slopes where the fruits and vegetables that will be sold on the markets of the Altiplano are cultivated: mangoes, papayas, bananas and coffee grown amongst the parrots and monkeys. And let’s not forget coca, here a traditional crop!
This exceptional loop starts at the foot of Huayna Potosi (6088 m.a.s.l.), before diving towards the Yungas, an area still little known to tourism, then on to climb between two of the Cordillera’s giants: the Mururata and Illimani (6432 m.a.s.l.).
Note: good physical condition necessary. For your comfort and security, a 4WD support vehicle will be accompanying you the whole circuit.
