Even before arriving, Bolivia will start working its magic on you. Flying past the majestic peaks near La Paz, your eyes will be drawn by the Huayna Potosi. It is a very impressive peak and is also one of the most accessible 6000-meter peaks in the Andes. Its summit doesn’t demand technical climbing skills, and is attainable to those who are physically fit and those who take the time to become acclimatized to the altitude.
The approach to climb this peak is not only beautiful in itself; it also will strengthen you and help the acclimatization process.
Note: so that you don’t have to weigh yourself with mountaineering gear, we provide all the individual equipment. All you need is your enthusiasm!

II/AD, Max 50° - with mountain guide
Equipment check. Departure from La Paz in our private vehicle at 8:30 a.m. for the Huayna Potosí mountain shelter (el. 4700 m.a.s.l.).
We climb to the “Rocks Camp” (base camp – el. 5100 m.a.s.l.) on the edge of the glacier. Approximately a 2-hour walk to reach the glacier.
Cold lunch. All included. Night in a shelter.
Ascent time: 2h; Elevation gain: +400m
Note: team of porters for the two-day climb.

Departure at 2 a.m. for a tentative ascent of the summit. Later on, we descend to the shelter (approximately 10h total). Return to La Paz with private vehicle.
Lunch included. Dinner open. Hotel***.
Ascent time: 10h; Elevation gain: +1000m / -1400m
